Bio

Rabia Hatta is an Associate Professor and Head of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Nursing Department at Guru Nanak College of Nursing in Dhahan Kaleran, Punjab. She teaches Obstetrical and Gynaecological Nursing to students in their nursing studies.

Prior to her current position, she held assistant professor positions at both Mata Sahib Kaur College of Nursing in Mohali and Aman Bhalla College of Nursing in Pathankot.

When teaching, her goal is to guide students not only in using critical thinking skills, but in handling patients with empathy. She believes in training students to uphold the dignity of the nursing profession.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) at Guru Nanak College of Nursing in 2012. Upon graduation, she spent one year as a clinical instructor at Mahatma Hans Raj DAV Institute of Nursing in Jalandhar.

She went on to complete her Master of Nursing in Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing (OBG) from Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing in Hoshiarpur in 2015. 

Both of her degrees were conferred by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences in Faridkot.

In 2022 she began her PhD in Nursing studies at Desh Bhagat University in Mandi Gobindgarh, with a focus on urinary incontinence in women.

Her professional development has included a four-week, online Health Care Professional Development course from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 2021.

In 2022 she earned a certificate for participating in the Punjab Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI) 77th biennial conference at Lala Lajpat Rai Institute of Nursing Education in Jalandhar.

She also earned a certificate for participating in a state level, one-day workshop on gender-based violence, hosted by Government College of Nursing Patiala in collaboration with the Nursing Scholar Society (NSS) in Punjab, in April 2023.
