Nursing school bursaries and scholarships

Thanks to our innovative partnership with overseas organizations, especially Canada India Education Society, our nursing school in Punjab is able to offer bursaries and scholarships to students attending some of our programs.

Below is information and an outline of the bursary and scholarship awards available for the current year. While we do our best to keep this page up-to-date, please note that the most accurate information will be distributed to our enrolled students directly via our faculty.

Enrolled students may contact us for instructions on how to apply.

Important notes:

  • Students who receive a scholarship will not be eligible for a bursary, and vice versa.
  • Scholarship and bursary recipients will be announced at the annual graduation ceremony.

Scholarships

Scholarships are financial awards based on academic excellence.

Eligibility requirements

Awarded to the student with the highest academic standing for each year’s class. No application required.

General Nurse-Midwifery (GNM) diploma scholarships

  • Year 1 class: 1 @ ₹40,000
  • Year 2 class: 1 @ ₹40,000
  • Year 3 class: 1 @ ₹40,000

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc.N) degree scholarships

  • Year 1 class: 1 @ ₹40,000
  • Year 2 class: 1 @ ₹40,000
  • Year 3 class: 1 @ ₹40,000
  • Year 4 class: 1 @ ₹50,000 (Award of Distinction)

Bursaries

Bursaries are financial awards to students based on financial need.

Eligibility requirements

  • Submission of application form.
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Student must attain a 60% average grade standing in their most recent academic year completed.
  • Student must not be receiving government support to pay for college fees.

  • Year 1 class: 3 @ ₹30,000
  • Year 2 class: 3 @ ₹30,000
  • Year 3 class: 3 @ ₹30,000

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc.N) degree bursaries

  • Year 1 class: 2 @ ₹30,000
  • Year 2 class: 2 @ ₹30,000
  • Year 3 class: 2 @ ₹30,000

Guru Nanak College of Nursing in Dhahan-Kaleran is affiliated to and recognized by the Punjab Government, the Punjab Nurses Registration Council in Mohali and the Indian Nursing Council in New Delhi. The BScN, Post Basic BScN and MScN degrees are conferred by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences in Faridkot, Punjab.
