Bio

Rajneet Kaur is a nursing tutor at Guru Nanak College of Nursing in Dhahan-Kaleran, Punjab. She teaches psychology and mental health nursing.

She passionately believes the subject of mental health has practical applications to everyone – including her students. By teaching others about psychology, she hopes to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness in society at large.

She appreciates that her classes are relatable to what students may be experiencing, while also being relevant to professional patient care. This is because, although many illnesses are physical, there is always a mental burden associated with any condition. She realizes that by understanding mental health, nurses can provide better quality of care.

Rajneet Kaur has an interactive teaching style. She encourages class participation by all her students. Her goal is to instil in students the necessity of patience while being ready to act with critical thinking – skills which are essential to nursing.

Prior to becoming a nursing tutor, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from Shri Guru Ram Dass college of Nursing, in Hoshiarpur in 2015. Her degree was conferred by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences in Faridkot, Punjab.

She worked at Guru Nanak Mission Hospital Dhahan-Kaleran from October, 2015 to December, 2016. Also in 2016, she became a nursing tutor at Guru Nanak College of Nursing on the same campus.

Rajneet Kaur’s teaching career began in the Community Health Nursing department. In 2022, she shifted to the Mental Health Nursing department.

In 2021, she completed an online, healthcare professional development program hosted by Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She continues to advance her skillset under academic supervision.
